image On Sunday afternoon, Kicks United battled the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School (ALCHS) Spartans under dark gray clouds and a wet field at the Webster’s Park. No sooner had the game commenced than Kicks United opened their account with a quick strike from Glenville “Mali” Allen (#10) in the first minute. Allen was not finished as he scored four quick goals in succession getting the first hat-trick of the season.

The school boys seemed disoriented and beleaguered as Kicks United moved in for the kill. Denville “Fatty” Francis (#7) soon found the back of the net with a lovely shot to goal. He too scored two other goals in the first half to bring his tally to three goals for the match. It seemed like the other kicks teams mates wanted to get into the action. Kenny Williams (#11) one of the more flamboyant members of Kicks also scored two goals. Up nine goals to nil, Kicks United pressed home their advantage when Shawn “Dirty” Williams (#20) also breach the porous defense of the school boys.

As the first half ended the coaching staff tried to patch together a plan to counter the onslaught of Kicks United. Several minutes into the second half a substitution was made. The School boys seemed more composed and better able to defend against Kicks United. Soon the school boys were running counter plays of their own putting their opponents under duress. Unfortunately as persevering as the school boys were they were unable to score any goals.

The match culminated with the School boys being rudely awakened to the reality of a ten nil drubbing by Kicks United.
