There was clash of the Spartans, as the improving Spartans international tangled with the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School Spartans at the Webster Park annex. The experienced striker Christian McClean (#19) opened the scoring for the Spartans International by sending a shot to the right of the Spartans goalkeeper. Spartans international was not finished as Derrick Mires (#12) sent a shot from the 18yard box to score the second goal of the match. Spartans international soon became complacent and consequently one of their teammates was yellow carded for an aggressive foul. The Spartans were rather thankful as young Keith Roy Lake latched on to the rebound from the free kick and blasted it into the back of the net. Filled with renewed energy the school began putting the Spartans International under immense pressure but the whistle indicating the end of the first half was their only respite.
As the second half started the Spartans came out swinging with several promising attacks from the right wing. The more experienced Spartans International was not fazed as they had seen it all before. On a counter attack the Spartans International through a relax chip by Cliftus “ Badow” Cadet (#18) scored the third goal to put them ahead three to one. Kervin Lee provided a Spartan response as he blasted home a shot from the right wing to bring his side within one goal. Though the Spartans tried hard the score line was 3:2 in favour of the Spartans International.
