The second round clash between Lions and Attackers lived up to all the hype that surrounded it. Unlike the first game, the Lions seemed poised and confident about what they were going to do. Both teams began by passing the ball around into spaces trying to see how the other would react. However, Melvin Angle (#14) blasted a shot into the right corner of the Lions goal to send the Attackers ahead 1:0. Tyrone “Sunkous” Benjamin (#10) rose to the occasion and showed why he is held in such high esteem. He sent a silky, smooth, rocket of a shot to the goal, leveling the scores at one all. Both teams now seemed very nervous as they realized any one could win the game. Like a horror story being read to the Roaring Lions, Melvin Angle (#14) struck again this time with a spot shot that curled into the far pole. Former Lions who were sitting under the grape tree began wondering how and when the Lions would answer the call.
Their requests were answered as Tyrone “Sunkous” Benjamin (#10) converted a penalty to level the scores. As the game continued both teams battled really hard for the midfield with very tough playing. The Roaring Lions had brought back an older Lion, Jeff Marsen to fortify the midfield. He worked tirelessly and showed that age is filled with valuable experience. As both teams pounded each other with counter attack after counter attack the game ended with in a draw.
