Like the Phoenix, Lions rose from the depths of despair.

Die hard Lions F.C. and Attackers F.C. fans were treated to a match that can be akin to matches of old.  Both teams, fresh from their disappointing performance in the regular league tournament, realized that there was no next week so all tricks were taken out of the basement.  The first half was practically a stalemate with neither side backing down.  As the second half commenced, Lions looked to the experienced substitute Collin “Culture” Johnson to make a difference.  With poise, and brut force, Johnson blasted a shot from outside the 18yard box which found the back of the net.  Within a few minutes the Attackers responded with two inspiring goals of their own.

Once again Johnson worked his magic and connected with Lester “Big Fish” Connor, who scored a beauty of a goal.  Johnson was not finished yet as he was brought down in the 6yard box by an Attackers defensive player.  Tyrone “Sunkus” Benjamin sealed the match for Lions by scoring the resulting penalty.  Lions won with a score line of 3-2.

School boys brought back to reality

Spartans International must have slept easier Sunday night after they were scared by the strong showing of the school boys (Spartans).  In a match where defense was prominent, nothing seemed to pass the 18yard box.  The flashy kapell Assent tried to mesmerize the young Spartans but the schooling of coach Vernon “Nunca “Hodge kept them immune to it.  A mistimed header by Spartans defensive standout Adonijah Richardson resulted in an own goal.  To the Spartans credit they played even harder pushing the football envelop and making Spartans international coach get upset stomach.  Though the young Spartans tried, the result remained the same, Spartans International 1- Spartans 0.
