9th Annual Anguilla Optimist Club Triathlon on April 22

ANGUILLA--The 9th Annual Triathlon organized by the Optimist Club is scheduled for April 22. Members are reminding athletes to begin preparations and to register for the event. It will start at Meads Bay with a swimming segment, followed by cycling and then a run which ends at Elodias Beach Bar in Shoal Bay. There will be two main categories, serious and fun with a team of three or individuals competing. This year the age groups will include under 12 years, 13-17 years, 18 and over and over fi fty. Cash prizes will be awarded in the “Serious Individual” and “Serious Team” categories. First prize is US $400, second prize $300 and third $200. Other winners will receive trophies and medals. Registration forms are available on the Optimist website at www.optimistaxa.org or from members of the Club. Registration is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children.
