In another dominant performance the lawmen literally destroyed the Farrington Blue Jays.

Batting first the Policeman amassed a total of 222 runs from 28 overs.  The lawmen were ably assisted by a contribution of some 38 extras by the Blue Jays.  The main scorers for the Police were Millington with 51 runs from 36 balls.  This score included 8 fours and 1 six.  Matthew Jordan made his usual contribution of 44 runs which came from 31 balls and included 7 pretty fours.  The dapper Yearwood also contributed 33 runs most of which resulted from his finesse of the ball.  Eversley Browne probably at one point in time the fastest bowler in the Leeward Islands made a well played 33 runs.  His score was characterized with well guided balls and several ill advised agricultural shots.

The Farrington attack was spear he added by veteran medium pacer and national team player Terrance Adams and young national speedster Daniel Proctor.  Both bowled with aggression and determination.  Adams bowled five overs for 51 runs and captured one wicket.  Proctor was more economical of the two after bowling six overs for 45 runs but was unable to capture any wickets.   King Repeater bowled with much deception and was able to snag three wickets for 34 runs from six overs.  Jovaughn Richardson used his cunning off spin make the lawmen succumb to the sin of wanting to hit the ball really hard.  His trickery worked as he got 2 wickets from three overs for 24 runs.  Leg spinner Sebastian Rogers also helped his team by getting 1 wicket from three overs for 10 runs.  The fielding was the area of contention for the Farrington.  Several drop catches and missed run out opportunities could have made the difference in the match.

The initial batting response of the Blue Jays seemed unnerved by the presence of   fast bowler BrownDaniel Proctor responded with a well played 21 from twenty balls.  He cracked four fours as well.  King Repeater tried to stay around but he was out caught by the wicket keeper for 5 runs.  As the wickets fell the atmosphere in the Blue Jays camp became tense and shrouded in fear as Rudolph “Sarge” Proctor was absent.  Just like superman, Rudolph “Sarge” Proctor while attending an official function, “Sarge” kept a keen ear to his radio and heard the woe his team was in.  Upon reaching the Webster’s park, Sarge immediately enquired whether more persons were needed and proceeded to collect his gear.

No sooner he got padded up another wicket fell.  Sarge rushed into the wicket and for a moment it seemed like the impossible was going to happen.  With Terry Adams and Sarge the Blue Jays became joyful with much applause being given to every run.  Sarge with his vintage onside strokes, powered his way to a beautiful 21 but was trapped L.B.W to Millington.  From that point it was a rapid decent down the slippery slope of defeat.  With the exception of Taylor who scored 11 no other batsman scored in double figures.   The Blue Jays were rustled out for a paltry 92 runs from 19.4 overs.   Despite the heroic efforts of Rudolph “Sarge” Proctor, the Police inflicted a heavy defeat on the once mighty Blue Jays.

Millington was the cream of the police bowlers with figures of three overs for 7 runs and taking 4 wickets.  Neverson and Best took 2 wickets each, while Brown who bowled with lots of pace and bounce and Hull took one wicket each.
