The Masters and the ALHCS cricket club played a very exciting match on the Webster’s Park on Thursday 10th May 2007. The Masters filled with experience, scored a rapid 107 runs from the allotted 10 overs. Opening batsmen Omari Banks scored a rapid-fire 53 runs. This score was garnished with 11 fours and 1 six. Banks soon retired, as he wanted his fellow teammates to share in the run feast. John Jeffers ably assisted Banks with a fine score of 31. The elegant Jeffers blasted 4 fours and wanted to continue motoring ahead. National team all rounder Terrance Adams came to the wicket to continue the stinging attack started by the opening batsmen. Initially his aggression was successful in scoring two runs however he soon fell victim to the spin medicine provided by spin-doctor Nordell Lake.

William Irish batted until the innings was over and he made 3 runs. Nordell Lake was the leading bowler taking one wicket from 2overs for 11 runs. Medium pacer Kelbert Walters (16 runs from two overs), Ngozi Daniels (22 runs from 1 over) and Chesney Hughes (27 runs from 2 overs) were some of the bowlers used by the school.

With a potent line up, the schoolboys fancied their chances of scoring the runs in quick time. Sensational opener Chesney Hughes and Randall Lake launched their attack in fine style. The omens associated with unlucky 13 undid Hughes as he was bowled by a deceptive off break by spinner Deleon Skellekee. His fellow opener was also dismissed after being trapped LBW to Omari banks for 4 runs. Daniel Proctor cracked a cavalier 19 runs with 2 fours and 1 six. However, despite his heroics he too was deceived by spinner Omari Banks. Jamar Hamilton was the next victim to fall courtesy of a run out. His demise was not before he made several spectacular shots mainly through the gully and point. The hero of the ALHCS innings was Kelbert Walters. Kelbert drove, cut and finessed his way to a wonderful 29 runs. In the end the ALHCS were scuttled out for 103 runs from their allotment of 10 overs.

The wickets takers for the Masters were Omari Banks who took 2 wickets from 2 overs for 21 runs. Skellekee and Bowing each took one wicket each. The Masters won the match easily by six wickets and four runs.
