WORCESTER, United Kingdom – Fast bowler Esaun Crandon, batsman Kirk Edwards and all rounder Mali Richards have joined the West Indies squad as further temporary cover for the fifty over warm up game against England Lions (formerly England A). The trio joins fast bowlers Andrew Richardson and Ruel Brathwaite who joined the squad in Worcester on Wednesday afternoon.
Crandon, a Guyanese fast bowler, Edwards, a Barbadian batsman and Richards, son of legendary batsman Sir Viv Richards were sought by the team management after a niggling injury to Corey Collymore (who traveled with the squad from Durham to Worcester) has ruled him out of contention to play on Thursday.
Additionally after a fitness test on Wednesday evening fast bowler Ravi Rampaul, has been advised not to participate in the warm up game as a precautionary measure in order to give him more time to fully recover from the groin tear suffered in the three day warm up game before the third Test match.
Test players Jerome Taylor and Sylvester Joseph also remained with the squad as additional cover for the injuries and late arrivals.
Dwayne Smith, Simmons and Richards Jr, the One Day players selected in the squad, will arrive in England on the morning of Thursday June 21st but will not participate in the first warm up game at Worcester and will join the squad in Derby.
A full injury update will be provided on Friday June 22nd.
