The Board of Directors of the West Indies Cricket Board has approved the appointment of 63-year-old Clive Lloyd as Manager of the West Indies team for their forthcoming tours of Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Lloyd previously managed the West Indies on the ill-fated tour of South Africa in 1998 when they received a five-nil white wash.
Opening batsman Chris Gayle will captain the team in place of the injured Ramnaresh Sarwan.
The West Indies will play two one-dayers at the Harare Sports Club on November 30 and December 2 and three at the Queen's Sports Club in Bulawayo on December 5, 7 and 9.
They will later tour South Africa for three Tests and five one-day internationals from December to February.
New coach, Australian John Dyson, will miss the Zimbabwe tour and will join the team in South Africa.
