Can you imagine a game where passion and joy abounds? Well if you can, then you have dreamt of the
Business Volleyball league. On Friday 29th June the Anguilla Development Board (ADB) sponsored tournament continued with two matches. In the first match, Teachers were dissected in every which way by the hard hitting Construction boys. Teachers, devoid of several keys players brought in “Child Prodigy” Melissa Mussington and Adonijah Richardson to fill in the ranks. This tactic was unsuccessful as the inexperience could not prevent the inevitable. Construction mopped up the teachers in three sets with the scores being;

In the second encounter of the evening, cellar dwellers Health and MICUH, fought like two pit bulls to secure a victory. Nigel Connor, former Society Crush hitting standout and his team mates played volleyball as if their lives hinged on the victory. Mr. Ken Banks did his part by throwing himself in all directions, urging his team to victory. However, his niece, Khalida, did not show any remorse to her beloved Uncle for her accurate serves and meticulous play. Each set left the growing spectator base salivating for more volleyball. In the end the experience of MICUH surpassed the youthful exuberance of the Health authority.

Saturday30th - Volleyball action.
Buoyant from their five set thrilling win over the Health authority, MICUH was determined to do the same to teachers. Once again all MICUH players were prepared to throw themselves all over the court. The living volleyball legend Mr. Ken Banks led the charge with good blocking hitting and encouragement. Despite the efforts of MICUH, the well oiled unit of the Teachers led by Ian Connor kept up a stingy defense which impeded their progress. The teachers won the match by sweeping the first three sets with ruthless efficiency. Scores for the match were;

In the second match, power houses Anglec and Construction engaged in an epic battle. High fliers Sherwin Richardson and Jimmy Thompson lead the hitting attack of Construction. However the tenacious veteran Justus Connor had no intention of acquiescing to the fancies of Construction. After loosing the first set, he relied on his experience to win sets two and four and came within two points of winning set five. In the end Construction blocked the power surge of Anglec.

On Sunday the ever the improving MICUH team took Construction to the limit. The living legend Mr. Ken Banks, Nigel Connor, Shanis “Shunksy” Connor and Wilma Proctor were not intimidated by the quick hits and fancy tricks of team Construction. Team MICUH played as if there was not tomorrow and left every ounce of energy on the playing field. The match concluded in favor of Construction, with a three set sweep over MICUH.
