On Tuesday April 2nd at 9:00am the finals of the 1500m races were held at the Ronald Webster Park.  The brightly lit sky served as a wonderful backdrop for the colorfully cladded athletes participating in the event.  However, most impressive was the presence of some parents supporting their children in the event.  This grueling race requires stamina and speed but most importantly, lots of support especially that from family.

Dee-Ann Rogers proved she was prepared for the challenge by obliterating her opponents and adding the 1500m title to her repertoire which include junior female road race champion.  Arin Reid continued his devastating form as he literally ran down his opposition in the last lap and sped away in the last one hundred meters. Even more remarkable was the fact that Arin won the road race on Friday, traveled to St. Kitts on the same day and played two football games on Saturday and one on Sunday and returned Monday for the race.  Kyla Freeman won the senior girls with no resistance from the rest of her field.

The much anticipated seniors 1500m race was pregnant with speculation as everyone expected Adonijah Richardson to dominate the event.  However Floyd Gibbons was determined to steal the show seeing that he had comprehensively beaten in the road race.  In the final lap Floyd gave sprinted with two hundred meters remaining but there was no response from his colleagues.  Floyd redeemed himself and reminded his compatriots that he is not to be forgotten.
