This post on www.anguillatalk.com captures the spirit of the
Easter Monday Boat Race. (See the photos below)

"Big Big boat race today in rainbow city !

Yes the 2007 Boat race season got off to a flier.

Meads Bay to Sandy Hill and back man dem boats were on de attack.
The flying Eagle was flying high all the way up to sandy hill -- in first place.
It was a beauty watching this boat gliding up wind her stem hardly skirting the
water. Even the Blue Bird sailed really well up wind. But Sandy Hill was only 1/2 of
the race. The boats had to head back west to meads bay.

What happens next is only stuff made for legends.
Out of no where and as far back as 5th and 7th places came DE TREE and SUPER!
yeah the SUPER STAR. These boats tore with the breeze west wards.
Boat race action in full gear. Who will win? Where is Mumba
and de fellas? UFO looked heavy and off ballast heading up in 9th place. The
boat obviously was having real technical problems fighting with the Pumkin way
behind. Up front De Tree caught some breeze off the east side of Grandcase
mountains and headed due west. Again brilliant captaincy for De Tree

  1. De Tree
  2. Super Star
  3. Light and Peace
  4. NWO
  5. Eagle

UFO undoubtedly will rectify her technical issues before the next BIG BIG RACE
in 6 weeks the ANGUILLA DAY RACE Over and out." by "Fan"

Thanks for the info. I am a crew member myself but presently overseas in school. I would be greatful if you all can continue to keep us overseas up to date with boat race news and other news of the nation. Thanks very much for your all time and effort thus far.
