Sunday football action; Lil Soldiers cool down as Shining stars reassert their dominance.

On Sunday the Lil Soldiers played the Gazelles in an evenly poised match. The Lil Soldiers sporting their new gear were out of the blocks like sprinters by having their recently converted goalkeeper, now striker katurah Caines attack the left side of the field. Though she worked really hard, her efforts were fruitless as no one lashed on to her crosses. Gazelles saw the attack plan of their adversaries and countered well by packing the middle of the defense forcing all the action to the sides of the field.



On the counter attacks Gazelles midfield guru Mauricia Sadler and striker Kristie “the twin” Webster exposed a flaw in the Soldiers defense. Unfortunately, due to some odd bounces the Gazelles were unable to convert any chances into goals. Goal keeping standout, Davia Hodge ensured no one got close to enough as she smothered all shots on goal. The match concluded with a 0-0 draw and Davia Hodge was given the player of the match award.
 
The second match witnessed two luminous gaseous bodies colliding in the atmosphere known as the Webster Park annex. The supernova known as the Shining stars castigated the Super Stars as the wonder twins Jaynelle “JJ” Lake and Claudena “Dena” Richardson were reunited again. The one two punch caused strikers Claudecia “Deci” Richardson and Glenicia “Boom Boom “ Richardson to reek havoc on the Super Stars. However, Melissa “Melly “ Carty stood her defensive ground and kept the attacks at bay. However the Shining Stars had the answer as Jaynelle Lake and Claudena Richardson opened the scoring in the first half. Glenicia “Boom Boom “ Richardson soon joined the frenzy in the second half putting the girls in yellow ahead three nil. However, Khadeema “Shorty” Hodge, Raquel Hazel, Jamese Moore and Melissa Carty continued toiling as they tried to stem the flow of goals. Unfortunately the immense pressure of the Shining Stars cracked the Super Stars, forcing them to score an own goal. The one sided affair witnessed the phenom Melissa Carty coming close to scoring but it just never materialized. The brutal affair ended with a 4-0 victory for the Shining Stars.
